Tim would have turned 45 today. It was not to be. After he died so very suddenly so many of you, kindly, reached out. Here is what you had to say about Tim Snoeks 6th March 1980 – 20th January 2025:

I met Tim twice and thoroughly enjoyed his company.
He was such a jovial, kind man.
He was such a lovely man a gentle giant
True man, best man, wonderful friend we will miss you so much sleep well, beautiful friend.
Dearest Kirstin – we are all so very sorry and deeply saddened to learn of Tim’s passing. We all have tears this morning and we want you to know how much we cared for him and appreciate every moment we could spend with him. When we moved to St Andrews he helped our family so much and in so many ways above and beyond an airport transfer or a local taxi run. Through Tim, we met you and a friendship developed. Tim was a kind, smiling and wonderful person. He deeply loved you. So many times coming or going from EDI he would talk about you and your experiences.
Every time we would drive around, we would look around in hope to see your amazing and friendly husband to catch up. One of the greatest souls I’ve ever known
Though I haven’t seen Tim for a long time I have such good memories of the two of you together.
Tim was my friend and neighbour when we were kids. I loved him so much

He was the nicest guy in the world. A real people person
He was a character always had a positive outlook on life.
What a great man Tim was to us
I have many nice memories of Tim. He was very kind.
Tim was one of the nicest people I have known… laughed so much together…
He was one of the good ones that’s for sure, one of those rare people you take an instant liking to
My daughter and I absolutely love Tim. He was the kindest person we had ever met while she was studying in Scotland. We would specifically ask for him when it was time to travel back-and-forth to the States.
Claire and I loved him so much. He wasn’t just our go to at Kingsbarns but our favourite person to call to. He always showed so much care and kindness to everyone he met. Always smiling and happy and made everyone smile with him, even when any of us were having a rough day. Such a light in this world

Tim was one of the first people I met while studying in St A’s and was one of the kindest, funniest and nicest people I’ve ever met. I was just telling my girlfriend about him last week. I’d always go out of my way to work with him and always thoroughly enjoyed our many conversations.

Tim was one of the first people I met in St Andrews in 2011, just as he was starting Starfish and I was a newly arrived student. We saw each other on the road when I worked part-time as a driver. Always smiling, always kind.
I have only known two people who so willingly and selflessly helped others. Tim was one of them.
Tim was truly one of the kindest, most genuine souls I’ve ever met. I’ll never forget when we first met back in 2013—those ice breaker cards of his were iconic! He was always so friendly, smiling, and happy to swap stories, especially about our psychedelic adventures.
When I left St Andrews for good, he took me all the way to Edinburgh airport and barely charged me — classic Tim, always so generous. He touched the lives of so many people from all around the world, and I feel really lucky to have known him.
What a phenomenally Lovely Man . Always smiling . We all send our love to you and his family. Our lives were better for knowing Tim.
One of the friendliest guys I’ve met!
Tim was such a lovely guy always smiling and happy and couldn’t be more helpful
Not many people that we meet in life that we know from very first meeting that this is one of the good guys x
I’m so sorry to hear this… I always booked with Starfish because I had to travel a lot while studying at St A, and I always felt safe (and entertained!) in Tim’s care. He even remembered me when I moved away for four years and then came back to do a 1 year MA
One of many beautiful memories with Tim & Kirstin
You two were such a pair, on so many levels. You must feel as if your right arm and leg have both been cut off.
